How I’m turning a crazy time into a peaceful, productive, focused time.
I’m thinking a lot about this right now.
I’m seeing peers still lobbing emails about new programs they’re launching as if nothing in the world is going on. I’m seeing my local theaters assuring me that all the seats are wiped down. And I’m hearing that the stock market is just a wreck.
I am wondering what all this means, and how long it will last, and what each of us is going to do to weather it.
Because there is A LOT we can do. I am constantly reminding myself that it’s never about what’s happening around you. It’s about how YOU are happening to it. Here are a few things I’m doing right now:
1. I’m cancelling things that no one is thinking about or wanting. Let’s face it, things have shifted. You have to shift. For example, I cancelled ME School enrollment this month, midway, just boom, on hold. Look, when people feel scared and uncertain, they retract. Period. Just look at the run on toilet paper! What do you need to adjust or freeze right now? Are you propelling yourself forward out of fear, or can you recognize the world’s shift and change course?
2. I’m hunkering down and Making stuff. LOTS of stuff, like new Flowdreams, more writing, more content for my Born to Make group and ME Schoolers. This is a perfect time to nurture your ideas, create content, and get a game plan together. This is inward time, when assembling things and planning are your best use of time. Sometimes inward time is enforced on you. Doesn’t matter — make use of it. Ask yourself, “What do I plan to emerge with?”
3. I’m managing my head, since so many other people have simply lost theirs. Managing my head means I’m carefully choosing the news I watch and read. Obsessing on my iPhone and TV is just filling my mind with ugly, scary, gunky energy. We need to stay clear and positive more than ever now. Don’t be ignorant—learn what you need. Then stop indulging.
4. I’m reminding myself that what I FEEL is a choice. Everybody….everybody!….is telling me to be afraid. Except being afraid is going to tear down my immunity. It’ll lead me to make bad, hasty decisions. Now more than ever, I’m going in Flow and remind myself of the following, every morning and night:
All losses will be easily made up.
Everything is in divine timing.
We will emerge brighter and shinier than ever.
While I may not be able to change events, I can change how I feel during them.
Life will return to normal. It always does.
What are the beautiful takeaways you want to receive from all this? How can you be of service?

I would love to hear your comments. Please leave one below!
I agree with your movement inward. The universe has given our time where external activities have been severely curtailed. In addition, travel and meetings with others are now limited. For me, it has cleared by daily activities so that I can develop a different mindset, habits, and flow. instead of leaving a lot of my more spiritual activities (e.g. meditation, journaling, reading, exercising), I now begin my day with these. Previously, I would get to the end of the day, too tired or too lazy to perform these activities. Now, I do them early in each day and the day seems to have plenty of time to do all.
Love your wisdom and willingness to share.

Calling senior citizens to check in, then sharing funny stories to get us laughing together!
Summer, Thank you as always for your positivity! I am also trying to strike a balance between staying informed and making the necessary adjustments and remaining productive, positive, and keeping my self-care habits up (hopefully increasing them even more!) I am giving myself chunks of time to work, clean house, cook healthy food, continue my yoga practice (they are fb live streaming from my studio), and continuing to put out positive content to my customers. I am still flowdreaming in the shower and have had an overwhelming feeling that while this is unsettling, we will emerge from this as a society with more kindness, more mindfulness about our planet and our community needs, and more confidence about our ability to weather anything. That is what I am putting into my future flow and I thank you for giving me the tools to do so! xo
Good ideas Summer…your mom here is doing the same. godisalwayshappy.com

This is such a beautiful message, Summer, and puts clarity to some of what I’ve been feeling as well. As you know, I’m focusing on making pretty things and putting them out into the world. This feels like a good way to be of service. I’m choosing to make gifts, where I’m not counting the cost or hoping to profit. It’s working. Meaning, it’s feeling really good for everyone.
