Abraham and the Flow

Friday, February 20th, 2009

The term “the vortex” first leaped to my attention several years ago when I was interviewing Stuart Wilde during a radio show. Then it again forced itself into my awareness  last year when I was teaching at a retreat with Denise Linn, when Denise led the group into an “energy vortex” as part of an exercise. Then, last night, as I co-hosted a two-hour online seminar with Esther and Jerry Hicks, the vortex was again forcing itself to my attention.

This is the second time I’ve hosted a program with Esther and Jerry, while Esther brings forward Abraham (a non-physical group consciousness). We sit in a studio for two hours with headphones, mics, and lots of blinking radio lights while Esther answers callers’ questions. It’s a privileged position to sit only a foot away while this occurs, and watch the truly joyful interaction between Esther, Jerry, and Abraham.

I first watched Esther from a similarly close viewpoint more than twenty years ago, in the 1980s, when a small group of us gathered in a hotel courtyard to watch Esther bring forward Abraham, when Abraham was far from well-known. My mother and I came home with a dozen hand-copied cassette tapes of Abraham’s teachings.  And now, here I am again, once more learning from them, through absolutely no effort on my part to have arranged it. I’ve often wondered at the complexity and foresight of my Flow, that it has maneuvered me into such a position.

It turns out that I’m not the only one who noticed the connection between the vortex and the Flow last night. Here is an email from my inbox today: (more…)

Welcome! Will You Be My Midwife?

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Hi Friends,

I’m so happy that you’re here, visiting my blog. I’m birthing it during a time of some serious upheaval in my life. Outside my home office window here in Southern California, the sky is like a solid turquoise upturned bowl, radiating light and warmth. But my own sky has been falling. My Flow is carrying me into very new waters. I’ve learned to let go and follow during points like this, and it’s coinciding (mysteriously! synchronistically!) with the debut my new way of speaking with you in the world, through this blog.

You’ll find my free Online Learning Library here, where I’ll be tucking especially informative articles. You can also sign up to receive my blog posts as emails, automatically, whenever I publish one. Just go to the top right of this page and type in your email address.

But I need your help. I’m the kind of person who rarely asks for help, so when I do, you know I mean it. I’d love to see this blog become a giant source of information for seekers like you out there in our world. To do this, I need to get the word out. Would you help me? Would you send a link to this blog or post to some of your friends right now? Would you link it to your own site, or blog about it yourself? Every blog comes into the world alone—like a baby—with no one but its momma or papa with it. So I’m asking, from my heart, for all of you to be my midwives.

My goal is manyfold: I want to have a way to continue to share and teach with you about being a manifesting practitioner and working with the subtle energies of the universe. I want to continue to bring Flowdreaming to the world, since when people use it to grasp their true inner power, we all benefit. And I want to get to know you, in this new community, through your comments and your experiences with this work.

Much love and blessings! May you stay in your Flow.

A New Model of Consciousness

Let’s do a thought experiment. Take a look at your hand. You know that it’s made up of tissues, blood, and bones. You may further realize that these things are each made of tiny cells, which are in turn made of minute proteins which are constructed from DNA and RNA . . . which are themselves made from molecules . . . which come from atoms . . . which come from . . . what?

Squint now . . . what comes next? Pretend that you’re seeing your hand down at its most basic level. It’s not solid at all, is it. See how there’s so much space between the atoms? What’s in that space? Nothing, you say? Emptiness? Empty space? Is that really what you’re made of? (more…)

Conductivity and Resistance

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

This Article is part of Flowdreaming.com’s free Online Learning Library.

If you’re looking for an explanation for why some things in your life seem so frustratingly difficult to manifest, then read on. It’s a long article, but contains valuable information. It begins with a story about something that happened to me these last few weeks.

I normally talk about the Flow using a metaphor of water. Our Flow moves like a current of ease and bounty, never ceasing, always finding the path of least resistance, like water flowing to the sea. When we’re in sync with this essence of life, we find that the world opens to us and we can manifest our desires with abandon.  When we’re at odds with this medium for manifesting, we’re going against this current and finding ourselves constantly struggling upstream facing discouragement, debt, and despair.

Well a few weeks ago I happened on a new way of looking at it: I’m going to borrow two terms from science and rework them a little:  conduction and resistance. A copper wire conducts energy beautifully, and lets it move right where it needs to go. A rubber wire, on the other hand, is a terrible conductor for electricity. It’s a point of resistance. We have both in our lives. Imagine that we’re on a racetrack made of copper, but the bumper walls are made of rubber. We can bump against the resistance as much as we want, or we can get back on the copper track. Here is what happened to me recently that made this all so clear to me. (more…)
